About Me

I'm Dr. Samantha Wlazlo, a small animal veterinarian with a passion for helping pets and the people who love them. After graduating from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 2015, I've spent the past decade dedicated to providing compassionate, personalized care for every patient I meet.

Through locum work, I've discovered a new set of rewards—stepping in when clinics need support most, ensuring pets receive consistent care, and giving their clients peace of mind. I'm a licensed Illinois veterinarian certified in Low Stress Handling, and I take pride in creating positive veterinary experiences. My approach focuses on patient well-being and client education—I believe in setting owners up for success so they can feel confident in caring for their companions.

My professional interests include managing rewarding medical cases and helping pets find relief from chronic issues like allergies, otitis externa, and dermatological conditions. While I love caring for dogs, feline medicine has a special place in my heart.

I'm passionate about continuing education and am currently enrolled at Chi University, studying veterinary acupuncture with the goal of incorporating integrative medicine for dogs, cats, and horses.

Outside of veterinary medicine, I'm passionate about equestrian sports and actively compete in the hunter-jumper circuit. When I'm not at the barn, I'm spending time with my cats, Harry and Manny, my ball python, Caligula, or enjoying a game of chess.
